No parachute required: introducing Pacific UV

A friend of mine, Andrea (a musical genius, believe me), recently posted a video among the comments in my Myspace page.
It’s “Static Waves” by Pacific UV, a band from Athens, Georgia (now residing in Portland) I’ve never heard of before.
Sort of.. brit shoegaze (Slowdive) meets (stoned and relaxed) Spiritualized meets Cocteau Twins and.. everything that’s dreamy, enveloping, and similar to landing on Earth in slow-motion from a mile high on a sunshiny day.
The song is taken from their 2002 first album (alternatively called “Pacific UV” or “Longplay 1“). They also published “Longplay 2” in 2008 (ideas for a title, anyone?): you can enjoy some more wonderful tracks from both albums here.
Now wear your shades, select a nice point to land on, 3…2…1.. launch!
