Pork and Beans
So, I heard that Weezer - or atleast the people who made the video to their song “Pork and Beans” - won a Grammy. Since all I get on youtube is a “This video is not available in your country” when I try to watch it I’m not gonna bother and go straight back to old comfy Weezer instead.
In ‘96 they released the fantastic (and even the fantastically overlooked) album Pinkerton. I loved it then, I love it now. These guys are so fantastically (hey, I know more words than that..) geeky but at the same time manages to write interesting music, which, I might add, not all geeky song writers manages to do. Pinkerton is also a must-have for everybody pretending to be Japanese with lots of references to girls of the country in question.
Listen to “El Scorcho” and tell me you’re not in love. (And what do you know. “Embedding disabled by request”. Tss.)

I am Rivers Cuomo, actually.
At least, I used (and seldom still use) a Riverscuomo-esque type of glasses.
“El scorcho” is awesome.
but “Undone” had stolen my heart, and never gave it to me back.

My heart belongs to “Say it Ain’t So.” It’s the only Weezer song that actually has good lyrics.
