The Raveonettes know how to make me.. er.. Blush

I don’t know that much about The Raveonettes: I just downl.. bought their second album “Pretty in black” (2005) a couple of years ago, after seeing the video for “Love in a trashcan” and being trapped in its dark sixties tremeloes, its resemblance to a B-movie (a noir spy-story, maybe) soundtrack and, of course, after falling in love with miss Sharin Foo’s bangs. I’ve always considered their music the kind of music Quentin Tarantino whistles while knitting a pair of wool socks for his beloved auntie. And I love it.
Since then I lost them a bit, and only now I take notice that from 2007 on the danish duo released their third full-lenght thing, “Lust lust lust” and a bunch of singles and EPs; the latest of these is “Blush” (out in November: 7” vinyl single, ultra limited edition, Uk only).
The references are the same as in “Pretty in black” (more details in wikipedia), but they sound much more minimal than before, kinda.. Jesus and Mary Chain without distortions, or a noisy shoegaze band with.. no noise!
Anyway.. there isn’t any official video for “Blush” yet. And so..
here’s “Blush” recorded live at City Centre Social (Manchester, UK) and the official video for “Dead sound
Enjoy

i always liked their attack of the ghost riders, both the song and the video (great video!), but have never really listened to then beyond that. but now! you’re so right, it’s more minimal, and there’s definitely some jesus and mary chain in there! awesome.

    (i really really love jamc)

    I know, I know..
I like JAMC so much, and.. although I’m not a fan as huge as you are (omg.. does it make sense in English? is it correct?..), I definitely envy your JAMC star-shaped pin (I saw the pic on your blog)..

oh, you should envy me, cos that star-shaped pin is not mine! i was dreaming and wished it was mine. still do. i found a pic of it on the jamc site april skies (http://aprilskies.amniisia.com/). i’ve never even had a jamc t-shirt :(

(it makes sense. maybe “i’m not as big a fan as you are” sounds better.)

JAMC are somehow part of my music “childhood”: probably the very first of my clumsy attempts to become a popstar (still trying!).
It was at the end of 1990: at that time I had heard of neither JAMC nor the Pixies yet. A friend of mine just formed a band, and they needed a temporary singer. He made me listen to a song a few times and then “Sing it!!”. It was “Head on”. I invented all the words, obviuosly.
that’s truly the truth! cross my heart!!

    i’ll second that!
