Dan Bejar Sucks Balls… (and not in a fun gay way)
Returning from my respite, I have but one purpose: to extol the virtues of the exultant Destroyer. I don’t know how familiar with Destroyer you may be, but if you will forgive me to assume your ignorance I can describe it thusly.
Imagine a perfect world wherein Picasso, David Bowie and James Joyce are all alive at the same time. In this perfect world, these three creative masterminds are also in a band together. David Bowie provides the music, Picasso the conceptualization, Joyce supplies the lyrics. Their music is endlessly self referential, creative, endlessly whimsical, and rich with literary allusions.
Although we do not live in a perfect world, this band exists in and through Destroyer. The only thing I have left to say is that they “exist solely to implode the pretensions of the critical masses.”
