Peaches and the Presidents of the USA. And peaches, again.

Yesterday I was re-watching this:

This colorful short vid is made by Sylvia, milk, unicorns and videos, whom I got to know by chance some weeks ago on myspace: she (Silvia) is a nice yet determined girl from Pavia (north of Italy), who usually spends her days creating stop motion polychrome videos (you can see them all here) and harassing famous singers (see a desperate and trapped Feist here).

Me, I’m not anglophone but I think I got the (let’s say..) subtle play of words (metaphore? homonym? pun?) between the beloved part-time comedian US president and Peaches’ preference about shaving between her legs.
“What’s weirder than Peaches metaphorically singing about a president of the USA?” I asked to myself. “Mmm.. maybe.. Presidents of the Usa singing about real peaches?”
And so..

Okay, okay.. so gross, you’d say.
But, however, I have their first 2 cds and I do prefer to listen to this kind of sunny (demential?) side of post grunge than to pretending to be meaningful, deep, nihilistic stuff by Puddle of Mudd, Staind, Silverchair, P.O.D..
Who can’t even boast of ninjas in their videos.

    I watch the video for “Peaches” almost every week, but didn’t put it up for my favourite videos because I thought everyone would make fun of me. Had I known everyone would make fun of me anyway, I would have reconsidered my decision.

    Also, that song isn’t about real peaches. “Stick my finger down inside, make a little room for a man to hide…”

    Yeah, not about peaches.

    Never payed attention to the lyrics. I’ve never gone any further than “peaches come from a can..”.
    ah ah! everything makes sense, now!
    well.. I think I have to go and get “Volcano”’s lyrics, now. God only know if there’s some second meaning hidden in it!!.. I mean.. with the chorus going: “It’s gonna blow, wowowow.. volcano!!”..

    yeah it is like junior senior, only better because it’s about sex and politics, my two favourite non-musical things.
